Bangladesh is considering garnering international support if India refuses to extradite former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. On Tuesday, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul stated that withholding her extradition would violate the treaty between the two nations.

The International Crimes Tribunal in Bangladesh has issued arrest warrants against Hasina and several former ministers, advisers and officials on charges of “crimes against humanity and genocide”.

Nazrul noted that Bangladesh has issued a red alert and is taking all necessary steps to secure Hasina’s return.
