India warns Pakistan over unprovoked firing
India has warned Pakistan against the unprovoked firing along the LoC.
Amid the recent firing, the Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan spoke over the hotline.
The two spoke on Tuesday to discuss the unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan.
Sources said the two sides are mandated to speak once a week over the hotline that connects the two DGMOs in New Delhi and Rawalpindi. “It was a routine call,” in which the matter of firing was raised, a source said.
This morning also, there was an exchange of fire along the LoC as Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the International Border in the Jammu region, prompting Indian forces to “respond effectively”, officials said on Wednesday.
It marks the sixth consecutive night of ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC, amid heightened tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad following the Pahalgam terror attack.
