Doubt if Congress will win even 40 Lok Sabha seats: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday escalated her attack on the Congress saying she wondered if the grand old party would win even 40 Lok Sabha seats if it contested 300 as the TMC president had earlier proposed.
“I had told the Congress they can contest two seats in West Bengal, and 300 seats in the rest of the country, where the BJP is a dominant party, but they rejected my offer. So let them contest all 42 seats in West Bengal alone. We will fight on our own and defeat the BJP. There have been no recent talks on seat sharing with them. I doubt whether they can even win 40 seats if they contested 300, she said
Describing Rahul Gandhi’s yatra as a mere photo opportunity for migratory birds, Banerjee said, “now the Congress has arrived in Bengal to stir Muslim votes.”
