End is near for those daring to wipe off sindoor of our sisters, says PM at rally in Gujarat
Addressing a rally in Dahod in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed Operation Sindoor and said those daring to wipe off the sindoor of our sisters must know their end is near.
Referring to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, the PM — in his first address in his home state Gujarat — made it clear that terrorism in India will be dealt with an iron fist. "Those who try to erase the sindoor of women will be wiped out," he said.
Calling it a reflection of India’s core values and collective anger, Modi declared, “Operation Sindoor was not just a military response — it was a message from Indians that this nation will not remain silent in the face of terror.”
Describing the attack as one of the most heart-wrenching in recent memory, he recalled the moment the terrorists gunned down several people in front of their children. “That image is seared into the national conscience. It ignited not just grief, but an uncontainable resolve,” Modi said, asserting that the terrorists grossly underestimated the strength of India’s response.
According to the Prime Minister, India’s armed forces, given full operational autonomy, acted with unmatched precision. In just 22 minutes, they neutralised nine high-value terror hubs across Pakistan. “Pakistan attempted retaliation, but their response was met with overwhelming force,” Modi stated. Without revealing operational specifics, he confirmed that the mission was executed in “a manner not seen in decades,” both in scale and efficiency.
He praised the armed forces for their discipline and valour, saying, “From the sacred land of Dahod, I bow to the bravery of our soldiers.” Modi framed the operation as part of a broader philosophy — one where India blends moral clarity with military strength.
Turning to regional security and development, the Prime Minister drew a sharp contrast between India and Pakistan. “That country, born from the trauma of partition, continues to invest in hostility. But India chooses growth — we are defeating poverty, building infrastructure, and advancing technology,” he said.
Modi also emphasised that the foundation of a developed India rests equally on economic resilience and national security.
Col Sofia Qureshi's family joins PM's roadshow in Vadodara
Colonel Sofia Qureshi’s family joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Vadodara on Sunday, turning the event into a moment of national pride and personal celebration.
Colonel Qureshi’s leadership during the recent counter-terror operation, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, has been widely applauded.
Amid crowds lining the city streets, Qureshi’s sister, Shyana Sunesara, and other family members stood among supporters waving flags and holding placards lauding the armed forces. “We are here to celebrate Operation Sindoor. The outreach about the operation was led by two women, including my sister, and it was executed successfully without any casualties. There was no fear in the country. Seeing PM Modi today was a different, emotional moment,” said Sunesara.
Posters praising the Indian military’s swift and precise execution of the operation were visible along the route. Operation Sindoor has become a defining symbol of India’s uncompromising stand against terrorism.
Colonel Qureshi’s brother, Sanjay Qureshi, echoed the sentiment: “We’re proud of what the military has accomplished, and it’s heartening to see the public celebrating with us. The Prime Minister congratulated us, and we welcomed him with full enthusiasm.”
The roadshow also drew participation from the city’s international community. A group of African students was seen joining the celebration, reflecting the diverse support behind India’s stand against terrorism.
