New Delhi, August 14
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has amended its affiliation bylaws to mandate use of NCERT textbooks by schools. According to a notification by the CBSE, schools have been strongly advised to follow the NCERT/SCERT textbooks for Classes I to VIII.
Schools may use supplementary material as per their requirement, but it needs to be aligned with the NCF-FS (National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage) and NCF-SE (National Curriculum Framework for School Education). For Classes IX to XII, schools have to mandatorily follow the NCERT textbooks prescribed in the CBSE curriculum. — TNS
