New Delhi, July 18
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will pay an official two-day visit to Bhutan (July 19-20), in his first trip abroad after assuming charge of the top post.
Misri, with his Bhutanese counterpart Pema Choden, will co-chair the India-Bhutan Development Cooperation Talks (‘Plan Talks’).
He will also meet the Bhutan King and Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade of the Royal Government of Bhutan.
The Ministry of External Affairs said the Foreign Secretary’s visit was in line with having “regular high-level exchanges between India and Bhutan, and underscores the “highest priority” the Government of India attaches to its ‘Neighbourhood First’ Policy”.
