Fresh violence in Manipur leaves one protester dead

Imphal, February 15

Fresh violence broke out in Manipur’s Churachandpur on Thursday night after a mob barged into the complex housing the SP and DC offices and torched vehicles. It happened hours after a cop was suspended after he was seen with armed men in a video grab.

Security forces fired tear gas shells. Eyewitnesses said a person died and 30 sustained injuries in the clash.
