Gabbard says US won’t allow anti-India activities on its soil
The intelligence chiefs of 20 countries, who are here to participate in the Raisina Dialogue, have agreed to ensure that their territories are not used for anti-India activities.
The decision is learnt to have been reached during a high-level meeting of intelligence chiefs in the national capital today. The meeting was chaired by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, with US intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard among those present.
Though details of the closed-door meeting were not released, sources said the focus was on intelligence sharing and cooperation to combat terrorism, terror funding and threats posed by emerging technologies.
The Indian side raised concerns about anti-India elements operating from foreign soil, including pro-Khalistan activists, sources said. India and the US are said to have agreed not to allow their territories to be used against each other.
Doval is also expected to hold separate one-on-one meetings with intelligence and security officials visiting India for the security conclave, which will begin on Monday. The event has earlier been referred to as the Raisina Security Dialogue and the Raisina Intelligence Forum.
Among the countries whose intelligence and security officials are in India for the conclave are the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UAE.
Meanwhile, Gabbard arrived in India on Sunday as part of her multi-nation tour of the Indo-Pacific region.
