Amid intelligence reports that a pro-Khalistan group is plotting an attack against AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, the former Delhi CM on Wednesday said, “God will save me” and he was destined to live as long as his “lifeline allows”.

Intelligence agencies have flagged a potential threat to Kejriwal by pro-Khalistani elements which, as per the intel input, have even dispatched a hit squad of three persons to assassinate him.

Delhi Police sources said security arrangements of Kejriwal, who is a Z+ protectee and has a comprehensive protection detail comprising 63 personnel, including a pilot, escort teams, close protection staff and search-and-frisk units, were being reviewed.

As per the intelligence input based on human intelligence, the suspected hit squad, allegedly backed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), was last tracked in Punjab. “They probably aim to disrupt harmony and law and order in Delhi and Punjab,” sources said.

Moreover, as the electioneering for the Delhi Assembly poll is already underway and Kejriwal regularly conducts public meetings, the police are keeping a close watch on every activity and maintaining round-the-clock surveillance to avert any potential attack. Additionally, 15 uniformed personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are deployed for his protection.

Meanwhile, after the reports of potential threats were reported by the media, Kejriwal responded by expressing his faith in divine protection. “God is with us. He will protect me,” he said.

Meanwhile, the AAP convener today filed his nomination from the New Delhi Assembly constituency, along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal and several women volunteers of the party.

Before filing his nomination, he participated in a padyatra from the AAP headquarters to Jamnagar House, where Kejriwal filed his nomination.? Earlier in the day he? also visited the Maharishi Valmiki Mandir and Pracheen Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place.
