Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab Raghav Chadha on Tuesday moved the Delhi high court against what he called “unfair eviction from a government bungalow allotted by the Rajya Sabha secretariat”.
The case will come up for hearing on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference at the AAP party headquarters on Tuesday, Chadha targeted the ruling BJP alleging that 95 per cent cases by the central probe agencies were against opposition leaders.
He cited the case of money-laundering against AAP’s Satyendra Jain who is out on medical bail; excise scam cases against former deputy CM Manish Sisodia; and recently against AAP MP Sanjay Singh; and the latest ED raids against Delhi MLA Amanatullah Khan.
“Amanatullah had secured bail against the anti-corruption bureau action but now the ED has been sent after him,” said Chadha accusing agencies of slapping false cases against AAP leaders.
Noting that AAP believed in Bhagat Singh’s ideology, Chadha said they did not fear such cases and would fight against them.
“AAP does not fear the agencies and we will fight till the end. They can put AAP leaders in jail, but truth will prevail. We are Bhagat Singh's disciples,” Chaddha said.
Speaking on his own case where the RS secretariat had earlier issued orders for his eviction from a type 7 bungalow saying a first time MP was not eligible for a big government accommodation, Chadha said, “They have snatched my four-bedroom government flat from me but people have sent wishes from all over the country. I will fight till the end and will not bow down,” the MP said.
