Haryana set to receive Rs 117.19-cr package for fire services

Haryana is set to receive Rs 117.19 crore for upgrade of its fire services. A High-Level Committee, chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah, has approved Rs 903.67 crore for Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for expansion and modernisation of fire services.Of this total amount, MP will receive Rs 397.54 crore while Rajasthan is set to get Rs 388.94 crore.

The committee has also approved additional central assistance worth Rs 707.97 crore to Assam and Gujarat, which were affected by flood and landslides in 2024. Of this total assistance provided from the NDRF, Rs 313.69 crore has been approved for Assam and Rs 394.28 crore for Gujarat.

This additional assistance is apart from the funds released by the Centre to the states from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), which is already placed at the disposal of the states.

In 2025-26, the Centre has released Rs 13,603.20 crore to 27 states under the SDRF and Rs 2,024.04 crore under the NDRF to 12 states.

Besides, Rs 4,571.30 crore from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) have been released to 21 states and Rs 372.09 crore from National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF) to nine states.
