In Parliament: ‘NHM funds denied over colour guidelines’
New Delhi: In Rajya Sabha, TMC MP Saket Gokhale asked the government if Rs 828 crore funds under the National Health Mission (NHM) were withheld from West Bengal for not adhering to the colour branding specification by the Centre. He further asked if these funds would be released. “If you obey the guidelines, yes. If you do not obey the guidelines, no,” said Nadda. Another TMC MP Derek O’ Brien said they would comply, but denying healthcare to people over non-compliance with a colour scheme was a bit over the top. TNS
Unlikely any state will follow WB model: Shah
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday took a jibe at TMC, saying it seemed unlikely that any state would like to adopt West Bengal's model. TMC MP Sougata Roy had purportedly asked whether the model followed by the West Bengal government to eliminate naxal violence will be adopted by the Centre, which had failed to control Left Wing Extremism. 10 crore denied food security benefit: Congress
New Delhi: Congress general secretary (communications) Jairam Ramesh in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday said over 10 crore Indians were being denied the benefit of the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana as the government had delayed the exercise of conducting the census. He said the National Food Security Act, 2013, on which the scheme is based, is founded on the 2011 census, and the last census was due in 2021. TNS
