In Parliament: railway blames WB for ‘poor’ condition of Kolkata station

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw blamed the West Bengal Government for failing to cooperate in clearing illegal occupiers from the Park Circus railway station in Kolkata and restoring order. “Railways have carried out eviction drives and deployed RPF personnel and CCTV cameras; but these efforts have not been successful due to lack of support from the state,” said Vaishnaw.

3.25L child abuse cases disposed of by fast-track courts

Over 3.25 lakh cases have been disposed of by 746 fast-track special courts, which include 405 POCSO courts, as of April 30, 2025, the Women and Child Development Ministry said on Friday. Uttar Pradesh leads with 90,000 disposals, followed by MP with over 31,000 and Kerala with over 25,000 cases, as per data shared by MoS Savitri Thakur.
