INDIA bloc picks ex-SC judge B Sudershan Reddy as Vice-President candidate
Former Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy was on Tuesday announced as the INDIA bloc’s candidate for the September 9 Vice-Presidential election.
Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Reddy was finalised as the Vice-Presidential nominee at a meeting of Opposition parties held on Tuesday morning at the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge announced Reddy’s name, saying he has always stood for constitutional values.
All Opposition MPs are scheduled to meet at 1 pm on Wednesday in the Central Hall of the old Parliament building to be formally introduced to the nominee.
This Vice Presidential contest is an ideological battle.

TMC leader Derek O’Brien confirmed that the Aam Aadmi Party is also on board with the decision.
Reddy’s nomination for the Vice-Presidential election will be filed on August 21.
