There is suspicion that Rana may have been involved in other terror activities apart from the Mumbai terror attack.

He was extradited to India on April 10 and is currently in the Tihar Jail under judicial custody, where he had been interrogated at length.

Rana has also been a long-time associate of 26/11 accused and LeT handler David Coleman Headley, who is currently in the US custody.

Rana allegedly helped Headley in conducting reconnaissance prior to Mumbai terror attack and reportedly also provided logistical support to the terrorists.

Rana was first arrested in Chicago in 2009, months after the 26/11 attacks that killed 166 people, including foreign nationals. His extradition was possible after years of legal proceedings in the US courts.
