Ahead of the crucial trust vote in the Jharkhand Assembly on Monday, MLAs of Jharkhand’s ruling JMM-led alliance reached Ranchi from Hyderabad this evening. They landed at the Birsa Munda Airport in a chartered flight and were taken to the Circuit House in two buses. The JMM leader Champai Soren-led coalition government in Jharkhand will seek a vote of confidence on Monday, on the first day of the two-day Assembly session. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered Champai Soren the oath of office on February 2 and asked him to prove his majority.

Congress leader Alamgir Alam and RJD’s Satyanand Bhokta also took oath as ministers. The ruling coalition claims to have five more MLAs than 41, the majority mark in an 81-member Assembly. One seat is vacant. The ruling combine has the following numbers — JMM 28, Congress 16, RJC 1 and CPIML one.
