On Saturday night, around 7.49 pm, Shahdeb was last seen at the Diglipur fish market. Later, at 8.11 pm, he called his wife, Debadrita Dey, claiming that he was in Madhupur and would take about an hour to reach the local market.

“He normally returns home around 8.30 pm and 9 pm, but yesterday, he did not come back. His last call to me was around 8.11 pm, and his location was Madhupur. I am worried and fear something bad may have happened to him,” Debadrita said.

Investigations revealed that a few months ago, Shahdeb was assaulted by locals after he attempted to expose illegal hooch dens in the area.

“He has been running this news channel for the last three years. We want a thorough investigation into the matter,” a close friend of Shahdeb said.
