After its leader Nitish Kumar’s resignation from chief ministership in Bihar, the JD (U) blamed the Congress for messy affairs of the anti-BJP INDIA bloc which Kumar helped establish.
Party spokesperson KC Tyagi said the final trigger for the JD (U) to quit INDIA was the bloc’s December 18, 2023, meeting where TMC leader Mamata Banerjee “as part of a conspiracy proposed Mallikarjun Kharge as alliance chairperson when the previous meeting in Mumbai had decided the alliance would remain faceless till elections,” Tyagi said.
He said the Congress kept delaying seat-sharing agreements within INDIA bloc to decimate the regional parties which have carved their place on anti-Congress politics.
“The Congress which could not manage the Leader of Opposition place in the Lok Sabha twice now wants to demolish regional parties which is why it dragged its feet on seat-sharing within the INDIA bloc,” said Tyagi putting the entire blame on the Congress and saying that it was the Congress caucus that proposed Kharge as alliance chairman, although Kharge declined the post.
