Lalu kids Tej Pratap, Hema get bail in railway land-for-jobs case
A special CBI court here today granted bail to RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav’s children Tej Pratap and Hema in a case related to the land-for-jobs scam.
Special Judge Vishal Gogne granted bail to the siblings on a bail bond of Rs 50,000 and one surety bond of the same amount.
The case, which is being probed by the CBI, revolves around alleged irregularities in appointments in the Railways in exchange for land that was transferred to the Yadav family. The CBI had alleged that these appointments were not made in accordance with established norms.
The alleged appointments took place when Lalu was the Railway Minister. The case has been under investigation by multiple central agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
In October last year, the same court had granted bail to Lalu and his sons Tej Pratap and Tejashwi in a related case registered by the ED.
