An Indian fisherman has died and another one is missing at sea after a Sri Lankan naval vessel collided with an Indian fishing boat, on Thursday, some 8 km north of Katchatheevu island near Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. India has lodged a ‘strong protest’ to Sri Lanka regarding the incident.
Two other fishermen have been rescued and brought ashore to Kankesanthurai. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement: “A search is going on for the missing Indian fisherman.
