The Lok Sabha was stalled twice since morning on Monday, including a second time at 1 pm when the Congress-led Opposition said it would start a debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor only after an assurance from the Chair or the government about a discussion on Bihar voter rolls revisions.

“All we seek is an assurance from the government that they will discuss the matter or special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar in the business advisory committee of the Lok Sabha. Even that they are not ready to give,” Congress deputy leader in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi said, after Speaker Om Birla adjourned the House for the second time at 1 pm questioning the opposition for a change or goal post.

“You demanded a discussion on Pahalgam terror attack and the government agreed. The discussion was fixed for today. Now you are not ready. You agreed to the debate in the BAC,” said Birla, asking parties to send to panel meetings leaders who have the capacity to decide on the behalf of parties.

Birla directed his remarks at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav specifically.

The Pahalgam terror attack discussion is now likely to be taken up at 2 pm provided the Opposition agrees.
