Man carries wife's body on motorcycle after accident on Nagpur-Jabalpur highway as no one stops to help

A heartbreaking incident  was reported on the Nagpur-Jabalpur National Highway near the Morfata area on Sunday, where a man was seen carrying the body of his dead wife tied to his motorcycle after receiving no help from passersby.

The woman, identified as Gyarsi Amit Yadav, died on the spot after being struck by a speeding truck around noon. Her husband, Amit Yadav, was reportedly left without assistance despite pleading with people on the highway for help in transporting her body.

With no other option, a desperate Amit tied his wife’s body to his two-wheeler and attempted to carry it back to their native village in Seoni district, Madhya Pradesh.

The couple had been residing in Lonara, near Koradi in Nagpur, for the past decade. At the time of the accident, they were travelling from Lonara to Karanpur via Deolapar.

Reports suggest that highway police, who filmed the video, initially signaled him to stop. When he did not comply, they intercepted him some distance ahead and took custody of the body. It was later sent for postmortem to Nagpur’s Mayo Hospital.
