New Delhi: Manish Verma was appointed the national general secretary of the JD(U) by Bihar CM and party’s national president Nitish Kumar on Thursday. The position was earlier held by former bureaucrat RCP Singh who went on to become Rajya Sabha member and Union minister before falling out with Nitish in 2022. Verma, a 2000-batch IAS officer, was the district magistrate of Patna and Purnia. TNS
K’taka Lokayukta men raid 56 sites
Bengaluru: Lokayukta sleuths on Thursday carried out raids at 56 places against 11 government officials and engineers in disproportionate assets case in Karnataka, sources said. In an early morning operation, about 100 officials carried out raids in nine districts against government officials, they added.
