New Delhi, January 15
PM Narendra Modi on Monday drew Lord Ram and Mata Shabari analogy to make a mega tribal push on the General Election eve as he released the first instalment of Rs 540 crore to one lakh tribal beneficiaries of PM-JANMAN (PM Janajaati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan).
The one lakh beneficiaries were given money for the construction of cemented houses under the PM rural housing scheme.
“The story of Shri Ram is not possible without Mata Shabari,” PM said, telling the most vulnerable tribal families that they need not suppress their dreams anymore.
Underlining Mata Shabari’s role in the transformation of Prince Ram to Maryada Purushottam Ram, PM said, “Dashrath’s son Ram could become Deenbandhu Ram only when he ate the berries given by tribal Mata Shabari.”
“Be it the story of Rajaram in Treta or the current situation, welfare is not possible without the poor, deprived and the tribals,” PM said, adding that the BJP government had constructed four crore permanent houses for the poor in the last 10 years.
“Modi has reached out to those who were never cared for. Today there is a government in the country which thinks about the poor first,” he said at the virtual event to kick-start the rollout of benefits under the scheme.
