Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his tenure of 11 years had taken the nation's development journey forward and shown a strong political will, which was lacking for several decades after Independence.

Addressing the 150th anniversary celebrations of Lakshmi Narayan temple in Mumbai, the Home Minister said, “Yesterday on May 26, Narendra Modi completed 11 years as the Prime Minister. For the last 11 years, he has been taking the country’s development journey forward. For many decades after Independence, many problems could not be solved due to the lack of political will in the country.”

“A strong political will was needed to build a grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya after 550 years, as shown by Prime Minister Modi. The work of elevating the glory of Kashi Vishwanath by building the corridor that was demolished by Aurangzeb is the result of the same strong political will,” said Shah.

Shah further said the Prime Minister had given people the confidence India would be a developed nation and a leader in every field by 2047.
