PM Narendra Modi on Saturday said unbridled corruption by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government was hurting the reputation of West Bengal in front of the entire nation. Addressing a BJP rally at Krishnanagar in Nadia district, Modi said the TMC government had perfected the art of “turning schemes into scams”. Modi said 25 lakh fake beneficiaries were enrolled by the TMC government for the MGNREGA scheme. He also accused the Mamata Banerjee government of appropriating centrally sponsored schemes by “giving the scheme its own sticker”.
