Mumbai attack trial records now with Delhi court
A Delhi court today received trial records related to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, just hours before Tahawwur Hussain Rana’s arrival of from the US.
Delhi’s Patiala House Court had recalled the trial court records in response to the NIA’s application. The development suggests that Indian agencies may be preparing to prosecute Rana in Delhi, streamlining the legal proceedings against him.
The records were submitted to the court of District Judge Vimal Kumar Yadav, following his January 28 directive to the staff of a Mumbai court. His trial is expected to shed further light on his role in facilitating the attack, including his involvement in providing logistical and financial support to the Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives, who executed the deadly assault.
