Social harmony and citizen duties are among top agendas on the discussion table at the ongoing three-day meeting of RSS regional coordinators which will conclude in Ranchi on Sunday.

Among citizen duties, the RSS leaders are also emphasising the need for austerity as the country marches forward towards the goal of Viksit Bharat.

Sources said RSS regional coordinators are discussing five key areas of social engagement for the Sangh which will mark its centenary in 2025: citizen duties, environmental conservation, social harmony and inclusion, family values and self-reliance through Swadeshi.

RSS sources told The Tribune that the meeting was being attended by Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat and his deputy Dattatreya Hosbale.

Sources said BJP leaders are not invited for the RSS meeting.

“It is being wrongly stated that BJP chief JP Nadda is attending the RSS regional coordinators meeting. It’s an RSS gathering,” said a source adding that preparations for RSS centenary year were also on the table.

Sangh will mark 100 years of existence on Vijayadashmi Day in 2025.

RSS sources added the need to remain austere and avoid needless splurging was part of the overall Sangh culture.

“We also spoke of the need to expand family values, working to ensure an inclusive society where people are not discriminated against on any basis and the need for people to play their role in building a grand and self-reliant India,” said RSS sources.
