New Delhi, July 16
The brutal Monday night murder of an Opposition INDIA alliance party leader’s father in Bihar’s Darbhanga triggered a political slugfest in the state, with the RJD and allies accusing the ruling NDA of unleashing “jungle raj”.
“Jungle raj” is a phrase the anti-RJD supremo Lalu Prasad camp has used to describe the ex-CM’s reign. However, today it was Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his BJP allies’ turn to face the heat and face swipes of “jungle raj” in the state.
Jitan Sahani, the father of Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahani, was killed on Monday night at his residence in Darbhanga. CM Nitish has ordered the constitution of a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the murder.
RJD’s Tajashwi Yadav said: “The double engine government in the state has established a reign of terror and criminals are feeling emboldened because of backing by the government.”
