Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday has accused the NDA government of attempting to shield itself from scrutiny through the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

Leader of Opposition in Parliament Rahul Gandhi said this legislation, under the pretext of safeguarding privacy, curtails access to public information essential for citizens and journalists to hold the government accountable.

The former Congress president made the remarks after a meeting with activists, editors, researchers, and domain experts in Parliament on Tuesday.
