NDA's V-P candidate CP Radhakrishnan meets PM Modi ahead of nomination

Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after the ruling NDA alliance named him as its Vice-Presidential candidate.

He arrived in the national capital to take part in various meetings of the NDA and met several leaders.

He was welcomed at the Delhi airport by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Food Minister Pralhad Joshi, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde, and senior Telugu Desam Party leader and Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju welcomes Maharashtra Governor and NDA’s Vice-Presidential candidate, CP Radhakrishnan, at Delhi airport, on Monday.

The last date for filing nominations for the Vice-Presidential election is August 21.

Radhakrishnan is expected to meet leaders of all political parties as part of his campaign for the Vice-Presidential election — the country’s second-highest constitutional office.

He will also call on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president JP Nadda, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
