New Delhi, August 5

Days after Opposition parties and medical associations raised the issue of NEET-PG aspirants being allocated examination centres hundreds of kilometres away from homes, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) reallocated the centres.

However, the aspirants are miffed as many have been allotted centres which are still far away from their home states. Surya Pratap, whose house is in Noida, has been allotted a centre in Patna.

“Despite selecting Delhi-NCR as my preferred centre while filling the examination form, I have been allotted an exam centre in Patna, which is very far from my permanent address in Noida,” he said. Akshay Tripathi, who was initially allotted Delhi, has now been allocated a centre in Patna, far from his home in Ambala. “Initially, I was allotted Delhi, but now my exam centre has been changed to Patna, which is 1,300 km away,” he said.

Similarly, Pranav Raizada, who was initially allotted Delhi-NCR, has now been asked to take the examination in Jaipur. Another candidate, Satvik Singla, who was earlier allotted an examination centre in Bathinda (Punjab), which was his first choice, has now been asked to attempt the exam at a Jaipur centre. The Indian Medical Association Junior Doctors’ Network has again asked Health Minister JP Nadda to resolve the issues faced by candidates who have not been allotted centres within their states. NEET PG Exam-2024 is scheduled to be held on August 11.
