NMC constitutes task force to help prevent suicides among medicos

The anti-ragging committee of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has formed a task force to address mental health concerns among medical students. It is aimed at preventing depression and suicides.
The 15-member task force comprises Dr BM Suresh, a professor in the department of psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience, as chairman.
The NMC said, “Mental health of medical students has been a cause for concern in the recent past leading to depression and suicides. To address this issue, a national task force has been constituted by the anti-ragging committee of the NMC.”
The task force will submit a comprehensive report outlining key findings and actionable recommendations for promoting mental health of the students by May 31.
