The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has withdrawn affiliation of 21 schools and downgraded six others from the senior secondary to secondary level in Rajasthan and Delhi for “dummy enrolments” of students.

“A dummy student is enrolled in a school but doesn't attend classes regularly. Such students attend coaching institutes and prepare for competitive exams. The school fabricates their attendance so they can take their higher secondary board exams. This is against affiliation bylaws,” a CBSE official said.
