Pakistan nabs own national on charge of spying for India

Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Saturday claimed one Ijaz Mallah, who fished on the high seas, was arrested with military uniforms, Pakistani currency, cigarettes, match boxes, lighters and SIM cards.

“In September, when Mallah was out fishing, he was arrested by the Indian coast guard. He was told he would be compensated for spying,” the minister claimed. “So this fisherman was eventually released...and was sent to Pakistan on a task to procure certain things…, Tarar claimed. The fisherman, with all items, was on his way to India when he was nabbed, he said.
