Parliament session to begin on January 31, budget on February 1

The session will start with the President's address to a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on January 31

The first part of Parliament's Budget Session will be held between January 31 and February 13, with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman set to table her eighth straight budget on February 1.

In line with the convention, the session will start with President Droupadi Murmu's address to a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on January 31, followed by the tabling of the economic survey.

The second part of the session will be held from March 10 to April 4.

The first part is marked by a debate in both Houses on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address and ends with the prime minister's reply in the two Houses of Parliament.

"The fourth session of the 18th Lok Sabha will commence on Friday, January 31. Subject to exigencies of Government Business, the session is likely to conclude on Friday, April 4. The President will address both Houses of Parliament assembled together in the Lok Sabha Chamber, Parliament House, at 11 am on Friday, January 31," a press statement issued by the Lok Sabha secretariat said.
