The Congress on Thursday announced that all party official programmes, including its foundation day celebrations, will be cancelled for the next seven days as a mark of respect for former PM Manmohan Singh.

Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala said that as a mark of respect for Dr Manmohan Singh, the Congress has cancelled its 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan Rally' in Karnataka's Belgaum on Friday. Congress general secretary in-charge organisation KC Venugopal said, “Party programmes will resume on January 3, 2025. The party flag will be flown at half-mast during this period of mourning.”
