PM Modi receives tribal headgear during Chhattisgarh visit, dials Teejan Bai
Interacts with tribal communities, checks on health of Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai and Padma Bhushan Vinod Kumar Shukla, and visits tribal heritage museum
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Chhattisgarh on Saturday for a major tribal outreach and, in a rare gesture, broke protocol to accept a traditional tribal headgear as a gift.
Earlier, the PM spoke to the family of Chhattisgarh’s renowned artist Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai, inquiring about her health. He also called Padma Bhushan Vinod Kumar Shukla, the noted writer, to check on his well-being.
Later, PM Modi interacted with members of the tribal community, who wanted to present him with a traditional headgear.
Although the gift was initially not allowed inside due to security protocols, the Prime Minister requested the security personnel to bring it inside and accepted it on stage with grace, demonstrating respect for tribal culture.
During the visit, the PM also inaugurated and toured the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, which preserves and showcases the legacy of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of the state’s tribal communities.
