Indicating a further thaw in the Indo-US relations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump spoke to each other on Thursday and probably ironed out a few wrinkles on the stalled trade deal.

Modi and Trump had buried the differences of the past on September 17 when Trump called Modi and greeted him on his birthday.

Modi posted on X about the telephonic talk he had with Trump, saying, “Spoke to my friend, President Trump and congratulated him on the success of the historic Gaza peace plan. Also reviewed the good progress achieved in trade negotiations. Agreed to stay in close touch over the coming weeks.”

In the post, Modi mentioned ‘trade’ indicating the progress in the stalled trade deal. Talks on the trade deal resumed last month following a thaw in the relationship.
