He added that India continues to be an important partner for Malaysia in the fields of trade and investment, along with cooperation in technology, education, and regional security.

”We also touched on the organisation of the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur at the end of this month. He informed me that he will attend virtually due to the ongoing Deepavali celebrations in India at that time,” Anwar said, adding that he extended his greetings to Modi and the people of India for the festival.

The Malaysian Prime Minister reaffirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing Malaysia–India ties and strengthening ASEAN–India cooperation “towards a more peaceful and prosperous region”.
