Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be guest of honour for Mauritius’ 57th national day. This was stated by Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam today.
Mauritius commemorates its national day on March 12 every year. The day marks the anniversary of Mauritius’ independence from the British rule in 1968.
Ramgoolam said, “...I have great pleasure to inform the House that following my invitation, Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, has kindly agreed to be the guest of honour for our national day celebrations.”
Ramgoolam said: “It is indeed a singular privilege for our country, to host such a distinguished personality who is doing us this honour, in spite of his very tight schedule.”
