Powerful medium, says PM Modi on World Radio Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took to ‘X’ to greet the nation on World Radio Day, acknowledging the immense value of radio as a “powerful medium” that unites people across the globe.
The PM wrote, “Happy World Radio Day! Radio has been a timeless lifeline for several people—informing, inspiring, and connecting people. From news and culture to music and storytelling, it is a powerful medium that celebrates creativity.” He also expressed his appreciation for those in the radio industry, saying, “I compliment all those associated with the world of radio.”
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw also underscored the enduring influence of radio as a medium to connect people. In a post shared on social media platform ‘X’, Vaishnaw celebrated the role of radio, recalling a moment shared by PM Modi that reinforced the powerful bond radio has with public. The Union Minister also highlighted Akashvani’s pivotal role in Indian broadcasting since its inception in 1936.
Vaishnaw’s post read, “PM Narendra Modi recalls a moment from Himachal Pradesh that reinforced his belief in radio’s deep connection with the people. Akashvani has been a cornerstone of Indian broadcasting since 1936.”
