President, PM Modi lead nation in paying tributes to Subhas Chandra Bose on Parakram Diwas
New Delhi, January 23
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying tributes to freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose on his 127th birth anniversary, which is observed as Parakram Diwas.
President Murmu, in a post on her official X handle, said that she pays her tributes to Bose on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
She further added that Bose’s extraordinary courage and charismatic personality inspired Indians to fight against imperialist powers.
PM Modi, in his message on the occasion said, “Greetings to the people of India on Parakram Diwas. Today on his Jayanti, we honour the life and courage of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. His unwavering dedication to our nation’s freedom continues to inspire.”
Home Minister Amit Shah, in a post on X, said that he bows before the national hero Bose, for whom seeking independence for the nation was the sole aim of his life.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also wished people on the occasion of Parakram Diwas.
Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while paying his tributes to the revolutionary leader, posted a message by Bose on his X handle, which said that all those citizens of India – whether they are Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian – who don’t have a divisive mindset, have to perform the duty to end communalism.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also paid his tributes to Bose on the occasion.
“Our heartfelt tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 127th birth anniversary. Netaji’s Indian National Army with brigades named Gandhi, Nehru, Azad, Subhas, and Rani of Jhansi regiment played an integral role in India’s freedom struggle. He was a leading example of Indian values of pluralism, social and economic justice, tolerance, and gender inclusivity. Jai Hind!,” Gandhi said in his X post.
