Wayanad MP and All India Congress Committee general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Saturday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using the word “Katta”, saying such language undermines the dignity of the Prime Minister’s post.
Addressing a meeting at Korha in Katihar district, she said, “Have you heard the language of the PM? He uses words like Katta (a country-made revolver), Apharan (Kidnapping) , murder etc.”
“PM Modi’s supporters are moving door to door seeking votes in the name of religion and scaring people,” she said. The PM of a country should be brave enough to come and talk about lack of employment and educational institutes.
She alleged that the Modi government was out to take away the voting rights by weakening the Constitution. “Who are these vote chors?” she asked and took the names of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Vivek Joshi and SS Sandhu.
She compared Rs 10,000 given to women with an alcoholic husband who frequently scolds and beats his wife but gives her a saree.
“The money is being given just before the elections. Don’t be fooled by it,” said Priyanka, adding that women in Bihar had been harassed for the past 10 years. “Take Rs 10,000 but do not give them votes,” she said.
Priyanka said under PM Modi, farmers were being forced to pay high interest rates. “They never wave farm loans. But they waive loans taken by Adani and Ambani,” she said.
“People want to work in public sector companies, but the Centre is handing over the country’s prime assets to Adani and Ambani,” added the Congress MP.
“Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is powerless. Nobody listens to him. The government is being run from Delhi. PM Modi has no concern about employment,” said Priyanka, adding that the Mahagathbandhan would come to power as the peolpe want change.
