Rahul Gandhi should reconsider contesting from Wayanad: Brinda Karat

Senior CPM leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Brinda Karat on Tuesday said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should reconsider contesting from Wayanad and should finds an alternative seat against the BJP.

“CPI has declared its candidate for the seat in Wayanad, Comrade Annie Raja, who has played a key role in ‘Mahila andolan’. Now she will be the candidate from the side of the whole Left Democratic Front. Rahul Gandhi and Congress need to think, they say that their fight is against BJP,” Karat said.

She asked the Congress, “In Kerala, if you come and fight against Left, what message are you giving? So they need to think about their seat once again.”

The LDF is exerting pressure on Rahul to vacate Wayanad for CPI.
