Rahul on 3-state tour from today, revamp on agenda
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to begin his three-state tour starting Tuesday as part of the party’s “Sangathan Srijan” programme aimed at strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level.
Rahul will visit Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh and Bihar from June 3 to June 6. He will first arrive in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday, where he will address party workers. Following this, he will travel to Chandigarh on June 4 to interact with party workers and hold a meeting with the Congress’ Haryana unit.
The meeting with Haryana leaders is significant as the party has yet to appoint a Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly following its defeat in last year’s elections. The Congress won 37 seats in the 90-member Haryana Assembly. Sources say discussions are underway regarding potential changes in the state leadership.
On June 6, Rahul will visit poll-bound Bihar, where he will address party workers in Muzaffarpur and engage with economically backward class groups in Nalanda. This will mark his fifth visit to Bihar this year.
