Congress leader Jairam Ramesh pointed out that the former VP, who frequently used to be in headlines, had been “totally silent” since he stepped down from the post.

The party also reiterated that the former VP deserved a farewell ceremony in line with democratic traditions. “Although Dhankhar was no great friend of the Opposition, we have been saying he at least deserves a farewell like all his predecessors,” he said.
