Record permanent government jobs provided under ‘mission mode’: PM Modi

Says in last one-and-a-half year, government has given jobs to almost 10 lakh youth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that his government has provided nearly 10 lakh permanent government jobs to youths in the last one-and-a-half year under “mission mode” like never before through ‘Rozgar Melas’.

Addressing recruits at Rozgar Melas held at 45 locations across the country through a virtual event, he said his government from last 10 years has provided jobs through ‘Rozgar Melas’ to the youth.

The new recruits, selected from across the country, will be joining various Ministries/Departments including Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Department of Financial Services.

“In last one-and-a-half year, our government has given permanent government jobs to almost 10 lakh youth. This is in itself is a huge record. During the times of earlier governments, youth never got permanent government jobs under mission mode,” Modi said.

He said honesty and transparency have driven the recruitment process.

While saying that prosperity of any nation is dependent on youth’s capabilities, the PM said India’s pledge of ‘Viksit Bharat’ till 2027 will be achieved since the nation has full belief on the capabilities of its youth.

Modi said making maximum use of the Indian youths’ abilities and talent is a priority of his government, noting that they are at the centre of various schemes, be it Make in India, Atamanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan, Start-up India, Stand-up India and Digital India.

The PM also said today India has become the world’ fifth largest economy and the world’s third biggest start-up ecosystem. He termed it result of “supportive ecosystem” for youth in the country.

Modi added India today has become the world’s second largest mobile manufacturing market in the world.

The National Education Policy has taken steps for the development of youngsters, he said, highlighting its emphasis on the use of mother tongues. His government has ensured that language is not a barrier by ensuring that youngsters can take recruitment exams in 13 Indian languages, he added.
