The Appointments Committee of Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved several appointments, including one Secretary-level and 38 Additional Directors General of Police (ADG) at the Centre.
The committee named RA Chandrashekhar, an IPS officer from the 1991 batch of the Kerala cadre, as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat.
He is currently Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
In a notification on Saturday, the committee said, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of RA Chandrasekhar, Special Director, Intelligence Bureau, to the post of Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat."
Chandrashekar will be succeeding Harinath Mishra, an IPS officer from the 1990 batch of the Kerala cadre, who was appointed on November 29, 2024.
