Shooter, 4 others held from UP for Siddique’s murder

The police said on Sunday they had arrested the shooter and four others in NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder case from Uttar Pradesh. The shooter, Shivakumar, and the four others were arrested in a joint operation with the Uttar Pradesh STF. They were being brought to Mumbai, a police official said. Siddique was shot dead on October 12 by three assailants outside his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office building in Bandra East.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
